Appalachian Service Project (ASP) - October 17-23, 2010

Roll up your sleeves! Pick up a hammer! Change your life!

ASP logoThe date is set for our next adult work tour trip to Jonesville, VA to work with the Appalachian Service Project. We hope you will consider joining us!

You'll lay shingles, replace linoleum, paint, and build handicapped ramps. If you have construction experience, you'll be matched with jobs that suit your skills. Even if you have no building experience, the ASP staff will show you the ropes, helping you develop skills you didn't even know you had.

But ASP is more than a building program -- it's a relationship ministry. You will spend a lot of time interacting with the Appalachian family you are helping. You'll develop a true heart for Christian service and come home energized and ready to give back to our church, your workplace, and our community.

The total cost for the week including room, board and a materials fee is $300. We share travel expenses and generally car pool to VA.

For more information or to sign-up, please contact Donna Eversman at (815) 356-6119 or deversman@ameritech.net. Also, visit the ASP website at www.asphome.org.

Remember, when you move to help those in need, God moves in you. And when you change the lives of others, they have a way of changing yours.

Testimonial from Rita --

"For five years I have gone to ASP - 4 times in Jonesville, 1 time in Brenton.  Five times I have come home feeling we have caused a big change in a family's life.  Some years I was able to do more meaningful physical labor; some years the "good" was in working and talking with the people - including follow-up messages or "gifts."  ALL years I came home bone-weary but filled with good feelings about making a difference."
